Healing bodies, restoring hope, and caring for the spirit.
-
Thanks to the support of visiting medical brigades, we are able to carry out specialized medical missions and expand our capacity to serve patients across different specialties. This collaboration allows us to bring essential healthcare services closer to those in need, strengthening our ability to provide timely, high-quality, and compassionate care to our community.
-
In addition to our surgical brigades, we offer a variety of programs designed to provide more comprehensive care for our patients, addressing both body and spirit. We are committed to holistic healing that goes beyond medical treatment alone. We also have a pharmacy area where we provide medications completely free of charge to our patients, helping ensure continued care and support throughout their recovery.
-
Our Rural Program is dedicated to bringing healthcare directly to remote mountain communities, reaching those who are unable to travel to our facility. Through this outreach effort, we provide essential medical attention, compassionate care, and support to underserved populations, ensuring that distance is not a barrier to receiving quality healthcare.
Surgical Missions
-
An essential part of the St. Benedict Joseph Medical Center is to host visiting surgical teams who offer their services free of charge to the poor. Almost every kind of surgery and specialty that can be carried out in a mostly outpatient facility is needed.
SBJ has four operating rooms and all the basic services of a surgical suite from pre-op to recovery. It also provides support services such as consult rooms, pharmacy, and patient rooms for short-term observation after surgery.

Our medical brigades bring a diverse range of specialties that allow us to address a wide variety of health needs within the community. These visiting teams include professionals from different fields of medicine who work together to provide comprehensive care, offering evaluations, treatments, and surgical procedures depending on each mission. Their support greatly enhances our capacity to deliver specialized and life-changing healthcare services to our patients.

Rural Program
The objective of this program is to bring all of our medical services to the most underserved communities.
This program is aimed at the comprehensive health of the poorest populations in rural areas, through a process focused on health promotion, prevention, and medical care.
It began in 2021 as an initiative of the Franciscan Friars and the Saint Benedict Joseph Medical Center, who decided to promote the program in order to continue their mission of serving the poorest in rural areas, with funds donated by the Rotary Club.
