Mission & Vision

Our Mission…

To show Christ's love to the materially poor, affirming their human dignity and worth. By offering free health care of the highest possible quality, in an atmosphere of faith and as part of the mission of the Catholic Church.

Our Vision…

To become a shining beacon of hope, a source of encouragement, and an expression of solidarity to poor families struggling to improve their lives. To positively impact and substantially improve—both in terms of treatment and prevention—the health and health awareness of our regular patients and neighbors. To establish a high professional standard for healthcare professionals and others serving the disadvantaged. To inspire others with similar efforts, in a spirit of faith and driven by the love of Christ, to meet the many serious needs of those living in poverty.

Our Franciscan Foundation

The St. Benedict Joseph Medical Center was founded by the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in Comayagua, Honduras.
Rooted in the values of the Catholic Church, our mission is inspired by the compassion and service of Saint Benedict Joseph Labre and Saint Francis of Assisi.
As the Health Pastoral Office of the Diocese of Comayagua, the Center continues to provide medical care and spiritual support to those most in need.
Through the collaboration of medical professionals, and volunteers, we seek to bring healing, hope, and dignity to every person we serve.
