Ophthalmology Program

With the collaboration of Advanced Center for Eyecare Global, we began offering ophthalmology consultations four years ago to assist patients with cataracts, the leading cause of blindness in the elderly. In 2025, we conducted 2,254 ophthalmology consultations and performed over 769 ophthalmologic surgeries, including cataract surgeries, cornea transplants, and oculoplasty procedures. Our goal is to continue expanding these efforts, providing more opportunities for treatment to impoverished Hondurans with limited access to this type of care.
